The trail network around Osprey, Link, and Chain Lakes is maintained by volunteers from the Osprey Snowheelers' Club. In addition to snowmobile users, the trails are also used by snowshoers and cross-country skiers. During the snow season, use by quads and trucks on unpacked snow makes major ruts and destroys the surface, making it unusable for all three primary user groups. PLEASE respect the primary users of these trails, and those that donate their time to maintain them, by not operating quads, SXS, or trucks on trails with 'unpacked" snow.

2015/16 Snow levels, Trail Conditions, & Grooming update:
March 3, 2016 - just when we thought winter was over. About 6" of new snow yesterday at the lake. Was melting by mid afternoon but conditions are great again. Should be excellent up higher.
February 21, 2016 - still lots of great snow up higher - firmed up now, but still soft enough for a fun ride, so you can ride anywhere in the many 'close in' cut blocks. But it is melting fast around the lake with many bare patches showing - will depend on the number of warm days how much longer we'll be able to use the trails around the lake.
February 9, 2016 - Great Family Day weekend - lots of sleds taking advantage of the great conditions. The KVR was groomed again Monday afternoon, from the store to Wong Way, after most had left, Although there has been no new snow in the last 3 days, the 'base' is great and conditions are still excellent "up in the hills"
February 1, 2016 - WOW, February came in with a big dump - snowing for almost 2 days with 8" of new snow and powder everywhere. Great conditions, unless you need to plow your driveway.
January 24, 2016 - another 5" yesterday and last night, but clearing nicely for another day of great riding. Barely anyone around, so lots of new snow and fresh track opportunities. KVR has been groomed again from the store to Trout Main.
January 20, 2016 - another 5" last night at lake level, and snowing again late today - WOW - what great conditions. Fresh tracks all over the place!
January 17, 2016 - just a trace of new snow at lake level, but up higher (Mt Kathleen) there is around 12" of new snow and no tracks visible - better know where you're going. KVR near the lake will be groomed again later in the week. Lots of great sledding and no trails closed due to logging - great year to enjoy some new trails.
January 1, 2016 - no new snow, but still lots of 'base' to play around in. KVR from the store to Trout main has been groomed a couple of times, but there are lots of sleds around. Expecting it to slow down quickly over the new few days, as most have to return to work early next week.
December 26,2015 - Been snowing all day - over 12" now at the lake and lots up high. Conditions are excellent - still lots of untouched snow around. Poker Run was flagged today and the check points set up. Should be a fantastic time.
December 25, 2015 - MERRY CHRISTMAS - Fresh dusting of snow continues a little each day. Total accumulation at the lake is around 10", with about 24" in the 'hills' when you get up a little. Trails are in great condtion - still lots of untouched snow. Great riding.
December 14, 2015 - Finally got a dump of snow! - there is now around 8" at the lake, with more at the higher elevations. Should be able to sled directly from lakeside properties just in time for the Christmas break. We expect many families to arrive this weekend.
December 10, 2015 - Although the ice is thick enough, due to lack of snow there is still no riding directly from Osprey Lake, although there is lots of snow "higher up". The warm weather earlier this week has melted much of the snow and even left a little water on top of the lake. But the forecast is snow, so lets all hope they are right this time.
December 2, 2015 - 1-2" of dusting of blowing snow overnight. Temperatures have warmed up to -4c and more snow is expected shortly.
November 27, 2015 - Snow is starting. Check back for updates
