Osprey Lake is primarily a recreational area approximately ½ way between Princeton and Summerland.  There are about 50 full time families plus around 200 seasonal residences.  It is also known as Bankeir and the Three Lakes Area (also includes Link and Chain Lakes).  The Osprey Area Ratepayer’s Assoc. was formed by local property owners over 35 years ago to protect the local environment, encourage community involvement, and enhance the local area.  Each year on the Labour Day weekend we have a community “Corn Roast” where the families of property owners and their guests get together for two days of fun activities and enjoy some free Corn-on-the-cob.  In addition, the Ratepayers funds are also used support the:
- community web site & newsletters
- kids Easter Egg Hunt
- Christmas Eve Santa run
- New Year's Eve Osprey Lake fire works display
- picnic tables, gazebos, & boat racks at public accesses
- maintenance of public accesses - removal of dead trees, garbage, etc.
- signage around Osprey and Link lakes to remind people to respect the environment, clean up, etc.
- assistance for Hayes Creek Fire Hall and contributions toward the Community Hall and fire equipment.
- encouragement of government to set safe speed limits and appropriate safety signage on local roads.
- liability insurance for community events including directors and officers
